About the Role

This position is located at Departmental Offices, within the Management CFO - Treasury Operations. As a Cabinet and Carpentry Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, directing, and overseeing shop operations in support of the maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of wooden structures, furniture, cabinetry, and fixtures throughout Treasury-occupied and leased facilities.

What You'll Do

  • As a Cabinet and Carpentry Shop Supervisor, you will: Lead a team of skilled trades personnel to ensure high-quality workmanship that meets historic preservation standards, building codes, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in management meetings at all organizational levels, including with senior Department of the Treasury officials, providing technical input to ensure that decisions regarding the care, use, and modification of facilities comply with applicable Federal and local building codes and standards.
  • Estimate total project duration and labor costs using engineered performance standards, historical data, and applied trade expertise to ensure accurate planning and execution.
  • Design and oversee the development of custom cabinetry and framing for departmental use, including projects supporting events hosted by senior Treasury officials, ensuring quality workmanship and alignment with functional and aesthetic requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with the Office of the Curator to plan and oversee the safe relocation and installation of valuable antique portraits, mirrors, and furniture, ensuring proper handling and preservation.

  • A one-year supervisory period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • All new hires will be required to comply with federal ethics laws.
