The position serves as a Budget Technician for the R&D Service and works with the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS), Administrative Officer (AO), Principal Investigators (PIs) and their business managers and staff, and the respective VAMCs Fiscal Service to ensure that all research funding is handled appropriately and in accordance with all VHA and Federal regulations.
What You'll Do
- →This is a non-bargaining unit position.
- →A moderate amount of standing and walking is required when attending meetings and conferences, and in visiting other offices and buildings throughout the facility.
- →Work also requires a one-time, daily pick-up of mail and packages from the on-site warehouse/mailroom and requires the ability to lift under 15 pounds.
- →Major Duties: Participates in the monitoring of year-end closing to ensure proper and full use of provided funds.
- →Prepares a variety of reports related to the status of funds, expenses, obligations, FTE, and workload.
- →Serves as the government purchase card holder with authority to make credit card purchases within a specified dollar amount.
- →Advises supervisor of conditions which would result in over-obligation of funds.
- →Enters budgetary data into a variety of forms, schedules, and reports, and recommends and adjusts when required.
Requirements
- ✓There is no education substitute or requirement for the GS-07 level.
