What You'll Do
- →Bed Management System (BMS) Coordinator The Bed Management System (BMS) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating patient care with a focus on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction across the continuum of care.
- →The BMS Coordinator administers medications and procedures according to established policies and guidelines, and actively participates in unit and program quality improvement processes and customer service initiatives.
- →The BMS Coordinator delivers competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients, and provides oversight to licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting.
- →Major Duties and Responsibilities: Utilize the nursing process to facilitate safe, efficient patient movement.
- →Manage routine patient transfers and admissions using BMS and EDIS.
- →Maintain proficiency in patient movement during emergency and disaster scenarios, including full-scale facility evacuations using BMS emergency management features.
- →Keep point of contact information current on the BMS SharePoint site.
- →Provide real-time updates to BMS-specifically Patient Pending Bed Placement (PPBP).
- →Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds, huddles, and discharge planning to ensure timely patient movement.
- →Engage in educational activities to maintain expertise in clinical knowledge and patient flow management.
- →Effectively communicate patient flow issues to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
- →Participate in committees, task forces, and continuous improvement initiatives related to patient flow.
- →Foster open communication and strong working relationships with all individuals involved in patient flow, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- →Utilize patient flow tools and systems (e.g., IFMT, EMMT) to support and evaluate facility-wide patient movement.

- ✓This period is considered to be an extension of the interview process and will provide your supervisor with an opportunity to evaluate your conduct and performance on the job.
- ✓During this period if it is determined that your performance or conduct fails to demonstrate your qualifications for employment, you may be terminated.
