This position is located in the Multimedia Group Division, Chief of Staff Directorate, Office of The Librarian. The position description number for this position is 470334. The salary range indicated reflects the locality pay adjustments for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area. This is a non-supervisory, bargaining unit position. Relocation expenses will not be authorized for the person(s) selected under this vacancy announcement.
What You'll Do
- →This position is located in the Multimedia Group (MMG), at the Library of Congress.
- →The Multimedia Group has responsibility for digital creation and reformatting support to the Library's service units.
- →Specific services of the Multimedia Group include: the operation of professional audio and video recording equipment; digital format conversion; video capture, digitization and editing; and presentation integration.
- →The group maintains equipment, software, and facilities necessary to the performance of these tasks.
- →The group offers complete production cycle services and assists service unit personnel in the development of local capabilities.
- →The manager and staff in this group work to satisfy customer requirements, to provide outstanding customer service, and to represent customer interests.
- →The incumbent of this position serves as an Audio Production Specialist who is responsible for analyzing, defining, and specifying audio production requirements; and uses audio production hardware and software to support the capture, editing, and presentation of programs originating from the Library.
- →A routine validated pre-placement physical examination performed by the Library's Health Services Division is required as a condition of assignment to this position.
- →This position requires regular recurring physical examinations every 3 years.
- →Working independently or as part of a team, the incumbent serves as an expert in audio amplification for meetings, events, conferences, concerts, and other live events.
- →Responsible for mixing live audio for front-of-house positions, monitor positions, and controlling room environments.
- →Responsible for operating both portable and fixed audio amplification equipment.
- →Responsible for the configuration and calibration of PA systems, including line arrays, subwoofers, fills, and wireless systems.
- →Performs system checks, sound checks, rehearsals, and operational adjustments during events.
