What You'll Do
- →The Assistant Training Specialist implements a developmentally appropriate program that fosters the physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development of children and youth, ages 6 weeks to 18 years.
- →The incumbent will be assigned to work with a TCS, who provides guidance and advice on all aspects of work.
- →The duties and responsibilities of the CYP Assistant Training Specialist can be grouped into categories, including training, classroom and program support, compliance, and additional responsibilities.
- →Each is described below.
- →TRAINING: Assists in the development of a CYP training plan and assists with identifying and addressing training needs.
- →Assist with orientation training for new CYP professionals and FCC providers.
- →Assists in execution of DoD Standardized Virtual Lab School (VLS) Training and completion of orientation, initial, an ongoing annual training.
- →Assist in developing individual training plans and preparing training status reports.
- →Assists in ensuring completion of required annual training.
- →Works with CYP Program Assistants to ensure VLS courses are completed.
- →Encourages and supports of continuing higher education of employees and providers.
- →Provides information about the Child Development Associate (CDA), the Military School-Age Credential (MSA), and higher level opportunities.
- →Mentors employees in this effort.
- →Assists in ensuring the quality and consistency of developmental programming to include environment, equipment, materials, program structure, curriculum, risk management practices, and oversight and coordination of activity schedules and lesson plans.
