The Office of International Affairs (OIA) returns international fugitives to face justice and obtains essential evidence for criminal investigations and prosecutions worldwide to keep our country safe and to uphold the rule of law. OIA is responsible for international extraditions, mutual legal assistance, and the international prisoner transfer program. OIA serves not only all federal prosecutors and law enforcement agents, but also all state and local authorities.
What You'll Do
- →The Assistant Director for Management & Administration will serve as a member of OIA's core senior leadership team and will implement and provide substantial input into Office-wide strategies and initiatives.
- →The preferred candidate for this position is an individual who has served with distinction as a high-level administrator (e.g., Director of Administration or equivalent position) and who has overseen the management and administrative functions of a fast-paced, high-volume, dynamic agency or office.
- →The incumbent of this position will need to work well and communicate orally and in writing with Senior Executives, attorneys, support staff, and officials at high levels of the U.S. government and foreign governments.

- →As the Assistant Director for Management & Administration, you will: Serve as a senior advisor for the implementation of organizational change efforts to include OIA-internal, intra-governmental, and inter-governmental programs and projects in accordance with industry and governmental best practices.
- →Direct process improvement efforts focused on increasing productivity, maximizing effectiveness, and eliminating inefficiencies of organizational processes.
- →Analyze the potential effect, including through the administration of OIA's case management system, of new or proposed legislation, staffing levels, office automation technology, etc., and develop short and long range plans to ensure that office operations are conducted effectively and efficiently.
- →Provide advice and counsel to the Director, Deputy Directors, and Associate Directors in managing and leading all aspects of the organization's human capital strategy and hiring efforts.
- →Establish and lead all data analytics efforts to produce strategic and tactical performance metrics tools aimed at informing senior leadership's decision making and supporting staff workload management; including familiarity with Tableau and Power BI.
- →Supervise the OIA Docketing Unit, which is responsible for receiving, opening, assigning, adding evidentiary documents to, closing, and mailing all paper and electronic files and records related to the organization's mission.
- →Direct and oversee the preparation of all materials relating to the organization's overall programmatic and administrative budgets, resource allocations, and contract/task order management in accordance with the Criminal Division's Office of Administration's (CRM-ADM) policies and the needs of the organization.
- →Maintain active liaison with CRM-ADM senior officials regarding human resources, human capital, resources and evaluation, information technology, facilities, security, records management, procurement and finance.
- →Mentor, develop, and train a cadre of first line supervisors, analysts, administrative support, and Docketing Unit personnel to inspire confidence, establish high standards of performance and integrity, and build comradery amongst the Management & Administration Team.
