About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) with responsibility for performing medical examinations and documenting medical history and findings in order for a determination to be made about suitability of applicants for service in the Armed Forces.
What You'll Do
- →As an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner), you will: Perform applicant physical examinations in accordance with agency standards and assist with applicant medical processing at a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).
- →Ensure the confidentiality of applicants is respected and that professionalism is maintained at all times in the medical department.
- →Perform applicant medical prescreening as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.
- →Conduct complete face-to-face medical histories on applicants who have completed the prescreen process and have been authorized to process.
- →Complete all computer and non-computer based medical documentation in accordance with the Command's software packages and policies.
- →Verify problems or conditions alleged by the examinees and recommend to Command physicians if a more detailed physical exam of problem areas is required.
- →Prepare electronic and non-electronic documentation used to assess the applicant’s mental and physical fitness for service in the military.
- →Perform physical inspections of previously qualified applicants to document their status for meeting standards at the time of actual enlistment on active duty and at any other time as required.
- →Perform a variety of professional direct health care duties within the field of general medicine.
