About the Role
About the Position: This position is located within Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Director for Surgery, Department of OB/GYN General Obstetrics & Gynecology at Bethesda, Maryland. Work hours: 80 hours to a 2 week period. No evenings or weekends. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Conduct and direct collaborative care assessment, diagnosis and management of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- →Implement the patient therapeutic care plan, with significant emphasis in the areas of patient/family education, assessment, and support.
- →Order and interpret related laboratory and diagnostic tests; prescribe medications; and initiates emergency care.
- →Consult and collaborate with physicians and other health care providers regarding patient management o include evaluating and revising therapeutic plans and managing high-risk, unstable, or extremely complex patients.
- →Evaluate care delivery models and strategies, using concepts related to community, environmental/occupational health, and cultural and socioeconomic dimensions of health.
- →Serve as a preceptor to graduate students enrolled in nurse practitioner and physician assistant programs, medical students and to newly assigned nurse practitioners.
