What You'll Do
- →The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), Department of Athletics, is filling a TERM (full-time) position of Instructor of Physical Education (Assistant Recruiting) NTE 30 June 2029.
- →This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment.
- →Appointment is not to exceed 5 years.
- →Extensions and/or Subsequent re-appointments may be considered based upon an assessment of performance, Air Force and departmental needs, and funding availability.
- →Major Duties of Position: Instructs cadets in Physical Education.
- →Instructs undergraduate Physical Education courses.
- →Prepares course materials according to published course descriptions and delivers well-organized instruction to facilitate student learning.
- →Counsels and evaluates assigned students as appropriate.
- →Effectively provides student assessment and motivation.
- →Provides extra instruction outside normal class hours for students who require or request it.
- →Serves as a course director when required by the Department of Physical Education.
- →Assists the Associate Athletic Director in all aspects of directing and monitoring the work of the Recruiting Support Division to ensure direct support of the cadet missions and programs for the Directorate of Athletics.
- →Assists in the development of division programs/policies that are clear and consistent with regulatory and legal requirements to support the overall mission of the Directorate of Athletics.
- →Provides a compilation of all admissions requirements for each Division I sport to increase effective mentoring of all recruited athletes.
Requirements
- ✓EDUCATION: If selected, you will be requested to provide original copies of ALL OFFICIAL transcripts for degrees being pursued or obtained (or letter of degree completion if an OFFICIAL transcript is not available due to recent graduation) to support your educational claims as stated in your curriculum vitae.
- ✓Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education.
- ✓For a transcript to be considered OFFICIAL, it should be printed on university letterhead and the registrar's official seal/signature must appear on the transcript.
- ✓Your transcripts must also reflect the degree awarded/conferred date.
- ✓Transcripts labeled UNOFFICIAL will not be accepted.
- ✓Upon request, ensure you include ALL transcripts to support your educational claims as stated in your curriculum vitae (resume) even if not required for this position.
- ✓FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the educational requirements.
- ✓However, you must show proof that the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program.
- ✓It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying in the form of an "official" statement of U.S. equivalency from a Department of Education approved (non-federal) agency (i.e.
- ✓AICE, NACES), who will complete a U.S.
- ✓Standard of Education Conversion.
