The Jefferson Barracks Division of VASTLHCS is looking for Advanced Practice Nurses for the Clinical Contact Center. The Clinical Contact Center APN provides virtual urgent/primary care services to Veterans enrolled in VISN 15.
What You'll Do
- →This announcement will remain open until the closing date, August 19, 2026 or when the applicant count is reached, whichever is earlier.
- →The applicant count is the point at which the first 50 applications are received.
- →All applications submitted that day up to 11:59 p.m. eastern standard time on the date the applicant count is reached will be accepted and considered.
- →The Nurse Practitioner practices to the full extent of their education, training, and certification.
- →Core functions are outlined in the clinical privileges that correspond with this position.
- →The NP has prescriptive authority for a panel of patients or program as indicated by their position.
- →As an APN in the Clinical Contact Center at Jefferson Barracks you will: Provide tele urgent/primary care through virtual modalities.
- →Independently manage a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice.
- →Develop an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management.
- →Demonstrate leadership and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.
- →Order and interpret labs, tests, and diagnostic studies.
- →Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- →Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services.
- →Provide education to patients and their families.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓English Language Proficiency.
- ✓In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
- ✓Acceptable form(s) of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents).
- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation/examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
