About the Role

This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA), in Washington, D.C. OLA is responsible for the presentation of the DOJ's views on legislation and legislative proposals to Congress, including congressional committees and individual Members, and explaining the Department's position on various legislative proposals and oversight matters to Congress.

What You'll Do

  • The duties and responsibilities for a GS-0301-Administrative Program Specialist-09/11 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as OLA's focal point for all human resources support activities, responsible for assisting in completing substantive program implementation activities.
  • Coordinates with HR to draft and post vacancy announcements.
  • Ensures OLA staff's time and attendance are validated and certified each pay period as the T&A Coordinator.
  • Responsible for development, monitoring, and maintenance of OLA's paper and electronic filing systems in a manner that ensures that all records can be easily retrieved.
  • Acts as the officer manager, devising and executing administrative procedures and practices.
  • Responsible for the management and coordination of security programs and plans within OLA.
  • The duties listed above are generally written for one grade level.
  • If the position is advertised at multiple grades, the duties will be adjusted in difficulty, complexity, and level of supervision, for higher or lower grades, as appropriate.

  • If you are qualifying on foreign education, you MUST submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency.
  • All documentation must be in English or include an English translation.
