About the Role

This position functions as the Administrative Officer for the Health Informatics Service Line, the AO will be providing a variety of complex duties related to management of administrative and human resources. Serve as the principal advisor to the Chief Health Informatics Officer and subordinates in the areas of office support services, budget, HR management, document control, logistics, training, safety, and SharePoint and a variety of other administrative matters as assigned.

What You'll Do

  • Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:: Provides interface between the Health Informatics Service Line, the Chief of Staff Office and subordinate directorates/offices, and staff elements.
  • Provides input and direction to the personnel assigned to HI and the various activities for which they are responsible.
  • Provides advice and assistance to managers and staff concerning Federal and organization's personnel processes and procedures.
  • Assists the Chief Health Informatics Officer in projecting staffing needs, writing positions descriptions, developing job analyses, preparing performance plans and appraisals.
  • Processes training requests, and draft disciplinary and adverse action.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets incoming requests, recommends appropriate action, or suggests appropriate alternatives based on knowledge of internal operations, organization personnel policies, budgetary constraints, and work priorities.

  • The incumbent keeps managers informed of the status of on-going personnel actions.
  • Directs the administrative management activities of HI, including interpreting administrative policies, developing, and implementing local policies, defining administrative requirements, and/or providing advice to management on related issues.
  • Serves as a principal advisor on all administrative management matters associated with HI programs and operations.
  • He/she actively participates in strategic planning, program management, and program evaluation, and ensures that the clinical and administrative functions are integrated to provide optimum utilization of resources.
  • Surveys and analyzes space utilization and recommend plans for future needs based on identified deficiencies, anticipated program changes, workload and staffing projections, and budgetary considerations.
  • Responds to requests for information or assistance in a timely fashion by personally assisting or facilitating the accumulation of necessary expertise from other sources.
