About the Role

District of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ. The selectee of this position serves as an Administrative Officer. You will be responsible for planning, implementing and directing District administrative programs in support of the mission of the United States Marshals Service.

What You'll Do

  • As an Administrative Officer at the GS-0341-13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Supervising the District administrative staff.
  • Overseeing and coordinating all administrative support for the main District office and District sub-offices.
  • Planning the work to be accomplished by subordinates; establishing priorities, assigning work, evaluating work performance, and providing advise, guidance, and counsel to subordinates.
  • Interviewing candidates for administrative positions and making selections.
  • Developing short and long range plans for District administrative operations.
  • Ensuring the administrative and financial management activities are performed accurately and timely in accordance with established regulations and policies.
  • Forecasts district financial needs to ensure district funds are obligated and spent in an appropriate manner, staying within allocated funds while dealing with changes in programs, staffing levels, and/or unanticipated events tied to mission workload.
  • Develop and implement effective and regular communication with staff as well as agency divisions: Human Resources, Information Technology, the Procurement Office, Financial Service, and the Management Support Division.

Requirements

  • Must complete an initial online questionnaire and additional assessment(s).
  • Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.
  • May be required to successfully complete a supervisory probationary period.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.

  • Citizen or National.
  • You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
