The Office of the Inspector General is one of the best places to work in the Department of Justice and is one of the premier inspector general offices in federal government. The Investigations Division (INV) investigates alleged criminal violations and misconduct that govern DOJ employees, operations, grantees, and contractors. Annually INV receives more than 13,000 complaints, opens approximately 250 investigations, and makes an average of over 90 arrests.
What You'll Do
- →This position is located in the Investigations Division, Administrative Support Branch, located in Washington, DC.
- →If you are selected as an Administrative Officer, your responsibilities would include, but would not be limited to: Providing efficient and effective delivery of support services to a law enforcement Division composed of a Headquarters office and over 30 different field, area, and domicile offices.
- →Examples include budget, acquisition, E&IT, travel, property, human resources, transcription, and SharePoint.
- →Providing substantial technical and administrative guidance necessary for accomplishing the work of the Division.
- →This includes directing and assigning the work of subordinate employees and providing direction and guidance to Division employees on a variety of topics.
- →Drafting and planning budget requests and expenditures including but not limited to equipment, software and licenses, services and supplies.
- →Areas covered include: law enforcement, E&IT, computer forensic, and office equipment, licenses, and supplies; and transcription, translation, computer forensic, and other law enforcement services.
- →Representing the office in meetings with officials, vendors, and members of external organizations on matters relative to areas of responsibility.
