About the Role
This position is located at the Los Angeles National Cemetery, in Los Angeles, CA.
What You'll Do
- →Incumbent serves as Administrative Officer at the Los Angeles National Cemetery.
- →The incumbent performs a wide range of budgetary program oversight, procurement, and personnel management functions in administering the facilities operational programs.
- →An objective of the position is to assess the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of the program operations at these sites and to recommend resolution of problems in a full range of administrative activities.
- →Incumbent's primary duty at these sites is to support management in meeting the goals and objectives of the National Cemetery Administration and the Pacific District Office.
- →The primary qualification requirements are analytical ability, substantive knowledge of programs as they effect the operation of a large cemetery and knowledge of pertinent statistical, accounting, budget and economic principles and techniques.
- →Incumbent also performs administrative work concerned with establishing and maintaining employer employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, morale, and discipline.
- →The incumbent is the principal advisor to both the Cemetery Director and the Assistant Cemetery Director in accomplishing a variety of administrative functions.
- →Performs public outreach as needed.
- →Work schedule: Required to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- →May include occasional weekends.
- →Due to the mission of the National Cemetery, the cemetery cannot be closed for more than 2 consecutive days at any given time.
- →Additionally, when a Federal holiday falls on a Monday or Friday, staff may be required to work on that holiday or a Saturday.
- →All staff is required to work Memorial Day and Veteran's Day each year.
- →Staff will be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary to meet the needs of the cemetery.
