What You'll Do
- →The incumbent is a member of the Facilities Department at a Bureau of Prisons'(BOP) federal correctional facility.
- →As supervisor over a welding shop, the incumbent is responsible for the speciality field of welding, through the supervision of inmate workers.
- →The welding shop is involved in the design, manufacture and repair of security devices, metal parts, and equipment.
- →Must supervise and train inmate workers in various phases associated with the construction, repair, maintenance, and renovation of buildings and related structures, grounds, fixtures and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of skills within the welding specialty, and other related trades.
- →Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
- →The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
Requirements
- ✓Career Transition Programs (CTAP or ICTAP): These programs apply to Federal and/or DOJ employees who meet the definition of surplus or displaced from a position in the competitive service.
