This position is located in the Joint Staff, Director of Operations and is the Vice Deputy Director for Regional Operations and Force Management, Norfolk, reporting directly to the Deputy Director for Regional Operations, military 0-7.
What You'll Do
- →The Vice Director serves as the principal advisor to the Director for Operations (J3) and the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff on all Global Force Management and Joint Force Coordinator matters.
- →Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage the Joint Force Coordinator Process: Develops and maintains the doctrine, policy, technology, and architecture governing and enabling Global Force Management and the Joint Force Coordinator processes.
- →Provide Joint Force Sourcing Solutions: Responsible for researching, coordinating and orchestrating the individual and often competing efforts of Supporting Combatant Commands and Service force providers to produce Joint Force sourcing solutions from the global pool of available Do W forces to meet validated operational and war fighting requirements of the Supported Geographic Combatant Commands.
- →Provide Contingency Sourcing Solutions: Responsible for developing contingency sourcing solutions in support of OPLAN/CONPLAN risk assessment.
- →Provide Executive Level Management: Provides executive level management in the interpretation of policy and tasking, implementation of process, practice and execution of authority and responsibility in the global force management and joint force coordinator functions of the Joint Staff.
- →Programming, Technical Planning and Management: Develop, execute and assess processes, procedures and resources required to fulfill the Secretary of War directed Primary Joint Force Coordination mission as the major element of the overall CJCS Global Force Management construct.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
- ✓All newly appointed Career SES leaders must sign the Reassignment Rights Obligations Agreement as a condition of appointment into the SES.
- ✓You must submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test before you can be appointed into this position.
- ✓Designated and/or Random Drug Testing required.
- ✓In order to qualify for this position, you must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).
