About the Role

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

What You'll Do

  • Supervises inmate crews responsible for the repair and operation of utility systems and equipment.
  • Systems which may be present include but are not limited to Steam producing boilers, condensate return systems, fire pumps, feedwater systems, and sewage filtering and monitoring systems.
  • Responsible for the distribution of all high voltage electrical loads including switch gear, transformers and metering devices.
  • In addition to the efficient operation and maintenance of the institution boilers, air conditioning equipment, water, sewage and electricity generation and distribution, responsible for replacing and or repairing thousands of feet of steel piping, expansion joints and hangers.
  • Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
  • The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
