You will serve as a Technician in the AVAILABILITY PLANNING DIVISION, MODERNIZATION & INSTALLATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA, Mayport, FL, or Norfolk, VA. This is not a high-grade position: therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $161,313 in Port Hueneme / $138,370 in Mayport / $140,426 in Norfolk)
What You'll Do
- →You will be responsible for oversight of all Rapid Prototyping, Experimental, and Demonstration (RPED) planning and installation efforts.
- →You will act as the primary technical expert responsible for ensuring the successful integration of combat and weapons systems during all phases of RPED projects.
- →You will analyze and develop innovative solutions for incorporating future system variants and next-generation capabilities into the fleet.
- →You will conduct rigorous evaluations of proposed installation designs for all new or modified weapons systems.
- →You will deliver comprehensive advance planning products, including detailed shipyard work requirements and formal Statements of Work (SOW).
- →Create and manage Plans of Action and Milestones.
- →You will proactively identify and resolve complex technical issues that arise during system planning and installation phases.
