You will serve as an Imaging Acquisition Engineering Agent (AEA) Deputy Technical Project Manager (DTPM), Code 349 in the Technical Project Management Office (Code 349) of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15 and the ND-4 encompasses GS-12 and GS-13.
What You'll Do
- →You will work with the Technical Project Manager (TPM) in the planning, budgeting, scheduling and tracking the execution of all tasking assignments for the program.
- →You will have involvement system development efforts, and research or technology initiatives that have great significance to the activity and agency’s needs.
- →You will collaborate with the TPM in planning for program task execution by the project team, including coordinating work with others as necessary.
- →You will be responsible for reviewing any conflicts with the TPM and implement resolutions.
- →You will use your Imaging system engineering expertise to provide engineering guidance for all efforts to ensure effective execution of the program and project objectives.
- →You will work with the TPM to conduct risk analysis and seek engineering alternatives for problems encountered on the Program.
- →You will use your understanding of Imaging systems and systems engineering to help define near term program objectives, schedules, budget, and to develop task plans and review these with the TPM and program office PAPM prior to final submission.
- →You will review and validate the accuracy of financial reports.
- →You will utilize engineering experience to develop schedule and technical progress reports for internal (NUWC) and external (sponsor) to support monthly reporting, Quarterly Financial Reviews, Program Reviews, and ad-hoc status reviews as required.
- →You will work with the TPM, PI, COR and financial analyst to ensure all appropriate contract actions are taken to support the success of the projects.
- →You will prepare briefs, action item responses, and technical white papers as required, and participate in routine and emergent staff and sponsor meetings.
- →You will routinely engage in Principal Acquisition Program Manager (PAPM) level discussions on Imaging program status and activities as required.
- →You will routinely handle classified material and are responsible for executing efforts that directly affect National Security.
Requirements

- ✓OPM guidance indicates that there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience.
- ✓This training plan or experience must be well documented and provided at time of application.) Physics Series 1310: Degree: physics; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics. or Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- ✓In either A or B above, the courses must have included a fundamental course in general physics and, in addition, courses in any two of the following: electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, modern physics, and sound.
- ✓Computer Science Series 1550: Bachelor's degree in computer science OR bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
- ✓At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
- ✓All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
