About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information and Technology, Field Support Directorate, Southwest Region, located in Tucson, AZ. Additional selections may be made beyond the total number of vacancies specified using this vacancy announcement. Further selections may also be made for additional organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • This position will allow you to use your experience to provide substantive clerical support to support Customs and Border Protection's mission.
  • This position starts at a salary of $51,417.00 (GS-07, Step 1) to $66,843.00 (GS-07, Step 10) with promotion potential to $66,843 (GS-7 Step 10).

  • In this Supply Technician position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals to provide substantive clerical support services.
  • Typical work assignments include: Maintaining inventory records by utilizing computerized records systems to locate, account, track and dispose of property.
  • Providing technical reviews of proper identification, quantity, condition, cost acquisition control numbers, property labels, etc.
  • Ordering materials, supplies, and services for the organization and solicit bids through open-market sources ensuring that maximum competition and adherence to all governing procurement and purchasing guidelines.
  • Conducting annual inventories; review, analyze and certify field generated inventory reports for technical compliance, completeness and accuracy; and reconcile data and information with appropriate documentation and identify inventory discrepancies.
  • Participating in investigations to determine causes of inventory discrepancies by reviewing and analyzing purchase orders, surveys, transfers, and other available sources.
