The Veteran Experience Officer is a Supervisory Program Manager responsible for the coordination and oversight of the overall Veteran Experience Program, which encompasses the Patient Centered Care, Cultural Transformation and Patient Advocacy Programs for the CVVAMC and seven multi specialty VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Brunswick, Perry, Milledgeville, Macon, Tifton, Albany, and Warner Robins GA, performing a variety of duties in a complex VA Healthcare System.
What You'll Do
- →**OPEN TO CURRENT VHA EMPLOYEES ONLY** The incumbent must take full responsibility to improve the Veteran experience through the Veteran Experience Program and the Patient Advocacy Program.
- →He/she functions as the key driver for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the Veteran Experience Program and Patient Advocacy Program including changes in the environment to ensure an exceptional Veteran experience as well as ensuring the patients' rights are observed and advocated.
- →The incumbent has the charge of defining the new process and practice of healthcare, that begins and ends with the Veteran, through the provision of training, tools, and systems to deliver it, demonstrate it, and study the outcomes.
- →The Veteran experience goes beyond the scope of Veteran satisfaction to focus on creating the ultimate experience through exceptional health care that improves the Veterans health and well-being.
- →The incumbent must have a clear understanding of Human Interactions, Family, Friends, Social Support, Access to Information, Healing Environments, Food and Nutrition, Arts and Entertainment, Spirituality, Complementary Therapies and Healthy Communities.
- →The incumbent is also responsible for the oversight of the Patient Advocacy Program ensuring the patients' rights are observed and advocated, ensuring the patient and their families understand their rights while also communicating the patient's problems, opinions and needs to appropriate staff and management.
- →Other major duties and responsibilities include Supervision, Program Planning, Program Implementation, Staff Training & Special Projects, and Criteria Development.
