The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to Training and Exercise Branch within the Joint Training and Exercise Division, Directorate of Operations and Training, United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).
What You'll Do
- →Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of a Training and Exercise Branch within the USSOCOM Joint Training and Exercise Division to ensure training policy and execution complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
- →Plans, organizes, and oversees the execution of training requirements of the USSOCOM Component Commands (Special Operations Commands of the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps) and Sub-unified Commands (Special Operations Commands of the Combatant Commands) are met to standard.
- →Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
- →Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
- →Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements.
- →Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards.
- →Represents the Training and Exercise Branch, J37 Division, J3 Director, and Commander USSOCOM in a variety of high-level government committees, national forums, and DoD meetings/conferences, focusing on activities to meet the Command's responsibilities and vision.
- →Principal advisor and subject matter expert within USSOCOM Headquarters on significant training and exercise activities and efforts occurring within the Department of Defense (DoD) and United States Government (USG) relevant to Special Operations Forces (SOF) employments.
- →Responsible to ensure the core classified national information protection security disciplines of information are fully covered from a policy and programmatic viewpoint to ensure overall information protection requirements meet mission requirements.
