About the Role

Incumbent oversees the day-to-day Customer Service/Patient Transport Program operations, serves as the front-line supervisor to 12 full time employees; volunteers and work studies assigned to the program, ensuring all patients and visitors have the best and safest possible experience while at VACCHCS. The incumbent has the knowledge; experience and skills that demonstrates the ability to coordinate a high volume of requests throughout the medical center; manage multiple staff schedules.

What You'll Do

  • Major duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to: Overseas and coordinates day-to-day operations of the Customer Service/Patient Transport program, provides report submissions to include workload reports, personnel management, transport request and patient/visitor logs and other briefs to present to the Medical Center and CDCE Leadership.
  • Acts as a resource person in planning, reviewing, or revising policies and procedures that impact patient safety and experience.
  • Educate, train and assist staff through frequent change processes while continuously monitoring and implementing regulatory guidelines.
  • Assisting with surveys and reports, process improvement activities, policy development, statistical, timekeeping, fiscal and other administrative functions.
  • Incumbent will be knowledgeable of basic services and process throughout the hospital, to appropriately assist or direct patients and visitors.
  • Assist and provide support for other CDCE programs outside of the Customer Service/Patient Transport Program, to include but not limited to the recruitment and processing of volunteers and work studies, onsite & community events.
  • Responsible for supervision and coordination of all activities and staff in the Customer Service/Patient Transport Program for all clinical and non-clinical services, Veterans, patients, and visitors.
  • Ensures the patient's needs, and those of their family members, are anticipated and met from the time of arrival at the healthcare facility to their departure, to include coordinating parking lot shuttle cart rides, wheelchair transport throughout the facility.
  • Work Schedule: Full time, 7:00am to 3:30pm Telework Eligible: May be approved on a limited ad hoc basis.
