You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MATERIALS ENGINEER in the Materials Engineering Department, located within MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul)-Engineering of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a Division Lead tasked by and providing support to the Materials Engineering Department Director in the leadership/direction and management of the Materials Engineering organization.
- →You will coordinate and manage the personnel, equipment, resources, and technical processes associated with the functional groups that perform in-service support for aircraft systems, subsystems, components, and equipment for maintenance and repair.
- →You will develop and/or maintain collaborative working relationships with the Fleet Support Teams (FSTs), Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), MRO Production Program Managers for FRCSW and with their counterparts at other FRC- NAVAIR activities.
- →You will ensure continuity, efficiency and effectiveness of the overall operational efforts of the Division, and its Branch and Technical/Project Leads.
- →You will serve as the local civilian authority accountable for ensuring that the application of materials engineering policies, processes, methods and techniques are consistent, efficient and effective.
- →You will manage the technical and administrative efforts of the Materials Engineering Divisions at the local site and serve as a resource and subject matter expert for the Materials Management Board.
- →You will develop resource management data, justify requests regarding special/additional support and recommend changes in position classifications or functions to ensure the optimum technical capability, communications, and efficiency.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
