This position is located in the Wage and Hour Division (WHD), Office of Regional Enforcement and Support (ORES), Northeast Regional Offices. The incumbent will serve as the Deputy Director of Operations. The position assists the Director of Operations in executive direction, guidance and operational matters in developing, planning and carrying out all Wage and Hour programs within the assigned region. Based on agency needs, additional positions may be filled using this vacancy.
What You'll Do
- →As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst, you will perform the following duties which are not all-inclusive: Assists in the evaluation of the overall impact and effectiveness of assigned Wage Hour programs in the region in meeting the needs of the national program goals of the Wage and Hour Administrator.
- →Serves as the Director of Operations' staff reviewer and advisor for regional program evaluation and control.
- →Furnishes staff advice and assistance and reports as they relate to Wage Hour programs impacting the region.
- →Assists in the direction of the program planning and management overviews in the areas of budget, personnel, procurement, health and safety, and information technology (IT).
- →The incumbent supervises the Back Wage Financial Systems (BWFS) employees and directs a comprehensive review of ongoing financial systems, budget, procurement, personnel management, space, and IT within the region to ensure and enforce compliance by the District Offices with Wage Hour National Office and Regional Office policy.
- →Serves in a pivotal role in coordinating, as needed, with the Assistant Administrator for Operations in the Wage and Hour National Office on all areas of financial systems, procurement systems, and information technology.
- →Services as the principal point of contact and technical expert on Labor-Management Relations and Performance Management for the Region by providing advice and counsel to management throughout the region.
- →Guides and assists supervisors in developing and implementing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) according to established regulations and contractual responsibilities.
- →Assists the Director of Operations in identifying and resolving Wage Hour District Offices operations problems in the programmatic, technical, and procedural areas.
- →Reviews, informs, and makes recommendations regarding systemic factors related to program effectiveness, such as fiscal operations, work organization, personnel management, quality controls, space management, health and safety management, and availability of necessary resources.
- →With knowledge of overall objectives, the incumbent is responsible for developing and preparing plans and programs for carrying out responsibilities on a regional level, determining methods to be used, approaches to be taken, resolving conflicts that arise, and coordinating work with program officials and external groups.
