About the Role

This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing. Washington D.C. is a potential duty location for this position; however, the Washington D.C. office is expected to relocate to Alexandria, Virginia. Selectees may be required to report initially to Washington, D.C and later report to Alexandria, Virginia.

  • This position is located in the Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH).
  • PIH's mission is to provide low-income families affordable housing opportunities as they transition to self-sufficiency and homeownership.
  • PIH oversees the administration of HUD's Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, Section 8 Rental Assistance, and Native American Programs through a staff of Headquarters and Field employees.
  • The field structure for PIH consists of 29 Hub Offices and 16 Program Centers that provide oversight, direct monitoring, and coordination for approximately 4,200 public housing authorities.
  • As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst, you will: Prepare various trend analyses, identifying unfavorable trends, situations, ratios, and deviations from standards as a result of conducting program data analysis, conducts cost-benefits analyses, and writes reports and conduction special studies and evaluations.
  • Review and evaluate program, financial, resource management, and contract operating reports, and prepare analytical comments and oral and written reports (graphs and charts that present clear, concise, and effective analytical results of evaluations and studies performed; and provides formal presentations) for senior management with respect towards meeting program and policy objectives.
  • Assist managers with drafting a variety of progressive discipline and performance related materials including, but not limited to informal formal disciplinary letters, performance improvement plans, opportunity to improve plans, for submission and approval by OCHCO subject matter experts, and OGC, as necessary.
  • Serve as advisor to senior management within the PIH on critical, sensitive or confidential matters as they pertain to the equal employment opportunity program, employee and labor relations program, and other assigned special projects and programs.

  • Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
  • A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
