The position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief of Operations, House Office Buildings (HOB), Office of the Executive Director. The incumbent serves as the jurisdiction lead over family and medical leave act and workers compensation.
What You'll Do
- →The incumbent will be responsible for managing, including auditing and directing, all work assignments completed by the Administrative Support Assistants serving as the jurisdictions Time and Leave Clerks and is responsible for managing the Executive Director and Deputy superintendent time and attendance activities directly.
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Conduct studies on operating programs related to leave management to reduce jurisdictional risk in the areas of leave management, workers compensation, FMLA and time and attendance.
- →Provide oversight over the Jurisdiction's family and medical leave act and workers compensation processes.
- →Manage the jurisdiction's review of all matters and serving as the liaison between HCMD's ELRB on FMLA, Workers Compensation team and HOB.
- →Act as a lead field representative on behalf of the Administrative Officer when handling Worker's Compensation Claims.
- →Evaluate the overall costs for time and attendance, leave, worker's and unemployment compensation and medical surveillance programs and determines improvements to provide the most cost effective and efficient reduction in program costs.
- →Create and implement efforts to reduce jurisdiction financial risk associated with leave management and/or abuse and improving operational effectiveness and efficiency through improved time and attendance measures.
- →Determine complex program issues, research alternate solutions and options for the most efficient and effective results and collaborates with other HOB staff on problem resolution.
- →Provide oversight to overall ticket management of workorders submitted to the HOB's Executive Director's office from AOC, Congress, Staffers and Visitors.
- →Develop position descriptions and performance standards, monitor performance, take disciplinary action when necessary, review and evaluate work accomplished, coordinate special projects, interview and select employees and work with Human Capital Management Division authorities for required approvals and implementation.
- →Develop tools promoting effective coordination of decentralized records management activities to ensure the accessibility and security of the House Office Buildings information.
- →Perform other related duties as assigned.
