The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to NGB AIM, Manpower, Organization & Resources.
What You'll Do
- →Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Mobility Air Forces Requirements section, ensuring that manpower requirements program complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
- →Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and manpower objectives.
- →Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies DoD, Joint Service, Air Force and National Guard manpower policies and regulations.
- →Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
- →Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
- →Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements.
- →Represents Manpower Mobility Air Forces Requirements section with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
- →Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with senior military and civilian managers and supervisors of the ANG, MAJCOMS, State Headquarters and wings.
- →Develops manpower requirements program guidelines, procedures, and operational concepts for the section to ensure effective and consistent accomplishment of manpower requirements studies and projects throughout the ANG.
- →Manpower requirements processes are complicated by the variety of missions and differences in gaining major command requirements.
- →Attends meetings conferences and briefings related to program planning, policy changes, controversial issues, assumption of mission and site activation and proposed legislation.
- →Interfaces with ANG officials, unit representatives, and functional area experts on the impact of program, procedural and conceptual changes on current and projected workforce composition and labor rates.
