This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as Chief, Design Branch in the Engineering Division with the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) located at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as first-line supervisor over a multi-disciplinary staff of professional engineers, architects, and technical specialists, assigning work, setting priorities, and evaluating performance.
- →Direct the design development phase for major construction, renovation, maintenance, and infrastructure modernization projects.
- →Establish engineering design criteria, develop comprehensive scopes of work, and oversee the preparation of cost estimates and design specifications.
- →Perform comprehensive technical reviews and quality control checks on internal and Architect-Engineer contractor design packages.
- →Provide authoritative engineering consultation and technical recommendations to executive leadership regarding complex infrastructure challenges and capital improvement programs.
- →Ensure all project designs adhere strictly to statutory engineering standards, building codes, occupational health mandates, and environmental regulations.
