About the Position: This announcement is for two Supervisory Interdisciplinary positions located at the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in the Networks and Transmission Divisions of the Central Range Operations Directorate with a duty location of White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. What You'll Do
- →Directs program planning and technical direction for research and exploratory development supporting test operations.
- →Coordinates with senior leaders to assess mission requirements, develops goals and objectives, and ensures test support efforts meet schedule, cost, scope, and budget targets.
- →Maintains oversight of personnel, materiel, facilities, and contracts to ensure state of the art capabilities across test support commodities.
- →Represents the organization at high level meetings, provides program and budget justifications, and serves as scientific spokesperson to Army, DoD, industry, and foreign partners.
- →Directs supervisory and nonsupervisory staff, sets priorities, delegates authority, resolves work issues, and implements personnel management, training, and performance policies.
Requirements
- ✓Basic Education Requirement for Meteorologist-1340 series: A.
- ✓Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in meteorology, atmospheric science, or other natural science major that included: 1.
- ✓At least 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of credit in meteorology/atmospheric science including a minimum of: a.
- ✓Six semester hours of atmospheric dynamics and thermodynamics;* b.
- ✓Six semester hours of analysis and prediction of weather systems (synoptic/mesoscale); c.
- ✓Three semester hours of physical meteorology; and d.
- ✓Two semester hours of remote sensing of the atmosphere and/or instrumentation. 2.
- ✓Six semester hours of physics, with at least one course that includes laboratory sessions.* 3.
- ✓Three semester hours of ordinary differential equations.* 4.
- ✓Calculus courses must be appropriate for a physical science major.
- ✓Combination of Education and Experience: Course work as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- ✓Basic Education Requirement for Mathematician- 1520 series: A.
- ✓Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in mathematics; or a degree with the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics.
- ✓My total course work includes differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite.
