About the Position: As the Chief of Regional Projects Branch, oversees a team of up to 20 professionals, providing leadership, technical supervision, and direction for complex Civil Works projects such as flood control, drainage, and infrastructure improvements. Manage project delivery, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, making policy and technical decisions, and ensuring program effectiveness while representing the branch in high-level briefings and meetings.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as Branch Chief supervising up to 20 staff, assigning work, setting priorities, and providing technical and administrative guidance to achieve program objectives.
- →Plan, direct, and coordinate complex Civil Works projects, ensuring delivery in accordance with established schedules and Program and Project Management Business Process objectives.
- →Communicate project and program status, priorities, and complexities to non-Federal sponsors, government officials, NGOs, and the media to maintain collaboration and transparency.
- →Make timely decisions and recommendations on technical, administrative, and policy issues, including complex or controversial matters.
- →Track, assess, and inspect assigned programs and projects, conducting studies and analyses to identify areas of concern and ensure effectiveness.
- →Manage staff performance, training, hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions while ensuring equitable performance standards and career development opportunities.
- →Collaborate with organizational units, USACE leadership, contractors, and agencies to ensure alignment and integration of program and project activities.
- →Represent the branch in briefings and meetings with Congress, government officials, and other stakeholders, advising on project management policies and resolving critical issues.
