About the Role
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the USAINSCOM Mission Support Command FOIA/IRR Fort Meade MD.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as the Chief, INSCOM FOI/PO, with the responsibility for participating fully with the GG-15 Director in the planning, organizing, controlling, directing, security and evaluating the activities of the office.
- →Plans, develops, and executes INSCOM policies, positions, standards, and procedural guidance on the overall conduct of the FOIA and PA programs.
- →Provides technical direction, counsel, and advice to all INSCOM field activities on FOIA and PA matters.
- →Serves as the Supervisor of the FOI/PO, which manages the daily operations of the administering the FOIA and PA programs for HQDA G2 and INSCOM.
- →Incumbent establishes and maintains effective working relationships with a broad requester base to include members of Congress, members of the news media, special interest groups, state, local, and foreign governments, and the public in general.
- →Establishes and maintains close and effective liaison with other HQDA Agencies, National Level Intelligence Agencies, Geographic Combatant and Army Service Component Commands and other Federal agencies.
- →Incumbent serves as the INSCOM Public Liaison in accordance with EO 13392 providing external customers with an advocate to assist in resolving issues.
- →Plans, supervises, directs and evaluates work of subordinate GG-13 thru GG-06 Intelligence Specialist/Assistances.
- →Reviews completed work of subordinates to ensure adequacy and quality of output to higher headquarters or within the headquarters.
