This position is located in the Museum and Library Services and serves as a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist. The incumbent is responsible for managing the OCIO and IT security to ensure the integrity, reliability, accessibility, and confidentiality of information systems and assets, and are responsible for advancing the infrastructure modernization as IMLS assesses having geographically dispersed personnel and a hybrid work environment.
What You'll Do
- →If selected for the Supervisory Information Technology Specialist position, the incumbent will serve as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) with primary responsibility for managing the OCIO and IT security to ensure the integrity, reliability, accessibility, and confidentiality of information systems and assets.
- →OCIO is responsible for advancing the infrastructure modernization as IMLS assesses having geographically dispersed personnel and a hybrid work environment.
- →OCIO develops the Institute's Information Technology (IT) strategic plan and is responsible for applications engineering of all IMLS IT requirements.
- →Typical assignments will include but are not limited to: Providing IT helpdesk services and support for all supported IMLS IT environments, software, hardware, mobile communications, printers, and the wired and WIFI network; providing operational support of cloud-based production and test environments; and for the configuration, installation, and operation of IT products.
- →Managing OCIO security to ensure the integrity, reliability, accessibility, and confidentiality of information systems and assets.
- →Managing the agency's enterprise-wide IT operations, information lifecycle functions, public facing technology and website, intranet, and customer care services; and for implementing all necessary policies, procedures, and practices to ensure the agency's compliance with all regulatory requirements and alignment with generally accepted IT business standards and performance.
- →Advances the infrastructure modernization as IMLS assesses having geographically dispersed personnel and a hybrid work environment.
- →Develops the Institute's Information Technology (IT) strategic plan and is responsible for applications engineering of all IMLS automated requirements including the Internet, Intranet, and Database administration.
- →Formulates policies and procedures and provides technical expertise regarding all aspects of information management throughout the agency.
- →Develop goals and objectives for technology and information initiatives based on organizational needs.
- →Ensures the protection of IT assets and the integrity, security, and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by IMLS.
- →Provides advice and counsel concerning IT issues and industry trends to agency leadership.
- →Serves as the Chief Information Officer, management advisor, and senior consultant regarding corporate enterprise architecture, IT standards and information systems for the agency.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
