About the Role

This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, The Office of Information Services is responsible for the overall success of the Information Technology (IT) program for National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Information Technology is involved in every facet of NARA including program and administrative activities.

What You'll Do

  • Operational areas affected by IT Operations include but are not limited to monitoring and applying advanced troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve IT infrastructure and employee IT issues to improve the performance and quality of IT services provided to employees and customers and developing innovative IT solutions in support of the NARA mission.
  • Study, review and analyze IT strategic and tactical operations to determine current and future agency mission requirements Maintain personal contacts with senior-level management officials, equivalent stakeholders, contractors, and the public.
  • Direct, coordinate, or oversee work of subordinate supervisors, IT staff, and/or leaders.

Requirements

  • The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.
  • One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
  • To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
  • A probationary or trial period may be required.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
  • A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
  • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form i-9.
  • Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
  • Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
  • File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
  • Designated and/or Random Drug Testing may be required.
