This position is located under the Office of the Associate Director at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center (CVVAMC). Position serves as the Chief, Engineering Service with responsibility for the Project Engineering, Maintenance and Operations, and Biomedical Engineering program with direct supervision over a GS-13 Assistant Chief Engineer and a GS-13 Biomedical Engineering Supervisor.
What You'll Do
- →Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, evaluation, and management process for Service programs, which include setting qualitative and quantitative standards.
- →Develops and implements systems and procedures for improving cost-effectiveness and productivity.
- →Provides for the overall administrative management for the Engineering Service; this may include, interpreting administrative policies, developing and implementing local policies defining administrative requirements, and /or providing advice to top management on related issues.
- →Works with the facility planner and medical activities to identify additional space needs and needed renovations.
- →Works closely with the facility and space planner, intimately involved in all strategic and functional planning for the facility.
- →Review and evaluates ship drawings, samples and material certifications submitted by contractor for contract performance requirements, recommending approval, rejection, or receipt.
- →Ensures facility compliance within the area of responsibility with EPA, OSHA, JCAHO, and other regulatory entities.
- →Applies knowledge and ability to make effective oral and written reports and presentations prepare and present graphical statistics, present recommendations and conclusion based on analysis and evaluation.

Requirements
