The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System is hiring a Supervisory Health System Specialist to work as the Corporate Compliance Chief. This position will conduct audits, analyze data and complete investigations as well as conduct routine monitoring in areas of previous compliance-related failures.
What You'll Do
- →As the Corporate Compliance Chief you will report directly to the Medical Center Director, and will have daily contact with other members of the Executive Leadership Team in order to carry out the duties of the position.
- →You will also be responsible for the direct supervision of the Research Compliance Officer, Compliance Officer, Compliance Auditor, Compliance Trainee, Integrated Ethics Program Officer, Controlled Substance Coordinator, Risk Manager, Peer Review Specialist, Privacy Officer, and the Government Information Specialist.
- →Determining issues, areas, and/or subject matter that create risks for the organization and making recommendations to executive leadership as to how to avoid or minimize the identified risks.
- →Creating written policies and procedures that promote commitment to corporate compliance and address specific areas of risk associated with the healthcare system business practices, operations, research, privacy, records management, investigations, and audits of scheduling consult practices.
- →Reviewing program directives, vulnerabilities related to compliance issues, areas of underperformance related to compliance, and identifying topics staff need further education and training on.
- →Preparing reports for leadership detailing compliance initiatives - identifying issues or failures that have occurred and recommending changes and improvements.
- →Maintaining processes to receive complaints, questions, and concerns regarding healthcare system business, research, privacy and records management practices and internal regulations.
- →Monitoring the implementation of process improvement projects that are the result of finding made.
- →Overseeing data collection, analysis and proposed corrective actions resulting from special studies, reviews, and audits.
- →Reviewing and identifying compliance concerns and making recommendations regarding corrective actions to the Medical Center Director.
- →Conducting facility risk assessments to identify, assess, prioritize, mitigate, monitor, document, and bring compliance risks to closure.
- →Developing, modifying, and interpreting performance standards for all supervised employees.
- →Explaining performance expectations to employees and providing regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
- →Identifying employee developmental needs and providing or arranging for training to maintain and improve job performance.
