What You'll Do
- →You will serve as the SWS/AWS Engineering Division Head and is the leading SWFLANT technical expert and government authority on SWS/AWS engineering.
- →You will specify the engineering requirements and performance standards for all technical and engineering product assurance programs, operations, and requirements.
- →You will manage employee performance and productivity through clear objectives, feedback, and recognition, and are responsible for all supervisory functions, including workforce planning, training, and discipline.
- →You will oversee the evaluation of system component processing requirements, performs comparative analyses of contractor plans, and directs revisions as needed.
- →You will direct engineering studies and investigations of deficiencies in SWS/AWS programs.
- →You will implement closed-loop corrective action systems to mitigate program failures, approving technical policies, and participating in acquisition activities from design to disposal.
- →You will monitor SSP contractor operations, supports technical contract fact-finding, and represents SWFLANT as the SWS/AWS technical expert in program-wide planning meetings.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
