You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the Systems Engineering Department and Combat Survivability Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The incumbent will serve as first line supervisor for branch employees and provide technical leadership of the branch activities. The duty location of this position is Patuxent River, MD.
What You'll Do
- →You will provide technical leadership and management for the overall operations of the Combat Survivability Assessment Branch within the Combat Survivability Division.
- →You will work on a national level with tri-service organizations to present and advocate Navy requirements and facilitate work on survivability related projects by these organizations within the branch.
- →You will evaluate work performance of subordinates and recommend official performance ratings at STRL pay pools in addition to identifying developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
- →You will support assigned programs as a senior level engineer and coordinate with the NAWCAD AA13000 Survivability Tech Warrant holder, program offices, DoW Services, and other agencies supporting applicable programs and technology development.
- →You will perform effective senior-level leadership and coordination functions to ensure that all perspectives are considered, leading to more robust, effective, and efficient system solutions.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
