About the Role

This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Equipment Engineering Division DCF (Washington, DC). As a Supervisory General Engineer, you will manage a staff of engineers supporting the 2 BEP manufacturing facilities. You will have experience in product or process development in a factory environment, manage interdisciplinary project teams, and possess an excellent analytical and systematic problem-solving skillset. You must be able to develop technical resources.

What You'll Do

  • →As a Supervisory General Engineer, you will: Supervise personnel, track and report to senior management the status of acquisition and implementation of new equipment, processes, and systems.
  • →Provide technical leadership and manage/mentor engineers in problem definition and solution using analytical, quantitative, and systematic problem-solving skills.
  • →This includes design of experiments and test plans to verify the problem solution.
  • →Perform a full range of supervisory and managerial duties typical of first level supervisors in BEP.
  • →Oversee a staff of General, Electrical, and/or Mechanical Engineers.

  • ✓A one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
  • ✓Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • ✓Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • ✓Undergo a tax compliance review.
  • ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
  • ✓Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
