As Chief of the Space Environments Test Division, you will be responsible for the supervisory functions within the division to ensure the success of the Armstrong Test Facility (ATF) Space Environments Complex (SEC) testing capabilities and associated tests.
What You'll Do
- →Provides occupational specific technical and administrative direction to subordinate employees performing the work and functions of the organization.
- →Advocates for required maintenance and enhancement needs of the facilities while planning, coordinating, and managing the maintenance and operations budgets.
- →Provides resource management planning, and project management of sophisticated experiments, development of complex test articles, and the development of new test capabilities or significant modifications to the existing research/test facilities.
- →Directs and monitors work related to operation of experimental facilities and equipment; design or development of procedures, techniques, and methods of equipment operation; design of facility modifications to meet changing test requirements.
- →Evaluates and develops policy recommendations and strategic objectives for the Division and assures policies are implemented within the organization.
- →Provides engineering oversight in coordination of space simulation testing of space systems in components in assigned facilities.
- →Establishes test conditions facility limits and safety requirements.
- →Performs a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.
Requirements
- ✓If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
- ✓Degrees in engineering technology are not considered qualifying for this position.
