This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as Chief, Engineer Division, providing the full range of real property and facilities design engineering, construction, maintenance, energy conservation, and related engineering services for the installation.
What You'll Do
- →Provide a full range of property design engineering for new construction, repair projects, and contract modifications.
- →Supervise the activities of supervisory, administrative, specialist, engineering, and other technical personnel engaged in the engineering activities.
- →Perform technical reviews of designs, plans, and project specifications for work to be accomplished.
- →Propose and discuss feasibility of modifications to plans and designs based on local technical or administrative issues, and discusses, clarifies, and coordinates work requirements emanating from individual projects.
- →Review and approve A-E and construction contract documents and records for negotiations, reviews submitted data for technical and functional adequacy, acceptance documents, and approves payment for accepted A-E services.
- →Maintain continuous contact with subordinate staff and Public Works division chiefs to exchange information on operational requirements, problems, and accomplishments.
- →Make recommendations on functional and organizational changes to supervisor, participates in management reviews of operations and resource allocations, and assures implementation of established work improvement and simplification programs.
- →Evaluate effectiveness of subordinate operations through review and analysis of appropriate production reports and inspections.
