***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD FAR EAST.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as the Head of the Project Management Division (CI2) supporting Capital Improvements Business Line and as the regional technical specialist, subject matter expert, community manager, and advisor for all aspects of Project Management.
- →You will provided project management knowledge and expertise for technical engineering and/or architectural services to all activities and tenants for a broad range of facilities served by NAVFAC.
- →You will provide technical assistance to the ROICC/FEAD in the areas of general engineering that requires the review of plans and specifications for in-scope/ contract determinations.
- →You will provide guidance, training, and mentoring in the area of project management as the Project Manager Community of Practice (PM CoP).
Requirements
- ✓TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE SUBMITTED. 0801 GENERAL ENGINEER: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph 1 (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
- ✓TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE SUBMITTED.
- ✓Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position.
- ✓Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
- ✓Military Spouses and Family Members may apply 30 days before their anticipated arrival date.
- ✓However, they will not receive preference until arrival at the foreign location.
- ✓Additional documentation may be required prior to granting preference.
- ✓Military spouses and family members who are appointed may not extend longer than 2 months following the transfer of the sponsor from the commuting area of the foreign duty station; 2 months beyond the separation of the appointee's sponsor; or any time beyond the time employee ceases to be a family member.
