About the Role
This position is in the Office of Appeals, Division of Enforcement Litigation. The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Attorney under the general supervision of the Director of the Office of Appeals (SES) and the Deputy Director (GS-15). The Office of Appeals is concerned with the review of all appeals to the General Counsel from Regional Directors' dismissals of unfair labor practice charges filed in the agency's regional offices.
What You'll Do
- →As a Supervisory General Attorney (Labor) (Supervisory Appeals Attorney), GS-0905-15, your typical work assignments may include: Supervising and/or conducting specially assigned analytical and research projects and directing the preparation of reports and recommendations to the General Counsel relating to special problem areas or the overall administration of the appeals function.
- →Directing preparation of memorandum or final letters, being responsible for the technical, concise accuracy and completeness thereof, including the factual and legal issues involved, with citation of authorities in the light of applicable law.
- →Reviewing appeals from deferrals of unfair labor practice allegations and reviewing appeals from regional decisions regarding whether appropriate compliance with Board orders have been achieved.
- →Reporting orally to the Director or Deputy Director of the Office of Appeals and the General Counsel's Agenda Committee on cases presented for decision in order to summarize contents of written analyses and recommendations, and to present additional interpretation and clarification of specific points raised during discussion.
- →Developing a written permanent record in the Agency's case management system on behalf of the General Counsel of decisions in Appeals cases.

- ✓(NOTE: Current NLRB Attorneys may not be required to submit a copy of their transcripts.
- ✓However, NLRB employees within 3 years from receiving their Juris Doctorate degree, must provide a transcript with their application package.) You must meet all qualification requirements.
- ✓All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
