About the Role

The Supervisory Maintenance and Operations (M&O) Foreman is responsible to the Chief Engineer for all Health Care System Maintenance, operations, and repair concerns. Using licensed tradesman and/or contractors to supplement the M&O Foreman skills, a complete and professional Engineering Service is provided to meet the ever-changing needs and requirements of the medical and administrative staff.

What You'll Do

  • Duties include but are not limited too: Ability to maintain facilities in accordance with VA and Joint Commission standards.
  • Ability to assign work duties to Maintenance, Grounds, and Boiler Plant Supervisors.
  • Ability to ensure staff have full work load and assigning duties as needed to achieve efficiency.
  • Ability to reviewing hospital/facility conditions and developing work orders.
  • Ability to work with engineering staff to assist design teams & contractors to determine needs, develop projects.
  • Ability to assist the Engineering section to develop projects to maintain and improve facilities.
  • Ability to manage service contracts for M&R and improvement projects.
  • Ability to understand and prepare cost estimates that are accurate considering materials, time, scheduling, and location.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of VA staff and consultants.
  • Ability review & approve timecards, leave & etc. for assigned staff.
  • Knowledge of environmental protection, hazardous materials, disposal of hazardous materials, spill protection, underground and above ground fuel storage tanks, MSDS sheets, IAQ, emergency actions plans.
  • Demonstrate ability and skill to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and Understanding Building Automation Systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of others to meet the needs of the customer.
