About the Role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the NAVSUP FLC YOKO REG. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.***
What You'll Do
- →You will provide overall direction of the accomplishment of contracting and suggest solutions to customers to make business decisions for supplies and services critical to the mission and war fighter support.
- →You will be a subject- matter expert in Federal, DOD, and DON contracting laws, regulations, principles and procedures, contracts and provisions throughout the organization.
- →You will advise management and colleagues on difficult problems, conduct special studies, propose options and alternatives, and represent the command.
- →You will provide program and procurement coordination, functional oversight and technical support.
- →You will coordinate and collaborate across activities to gain support and buy-in of solutions.
- →You will plan and support projects and initiatives to senior levels within the Navy.
- →You will be responsible for planning work to be accomplished by subordinates with consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments and the capabilities of employees You will be participating in the overall planning, management and administration of operations regarding program directives, the sourcing process, and contracting activities.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
- ✓NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000.
- ✓Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement.
- ✓Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
- ✓Specialized Experience: In addition to meeting the basic education requirements above, one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression is qualifying for positions at grades GS-7 (or equivalent) and above.
- ✓Specialized experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled.
- ✓Additional Information: ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
- ✓ICTAP candidates must provide copies of all of the following documentation at the time of application: 1) agency notice; 2) most recent performance appraisal; and 3) most recent SF-50 or notification of personnel action that includes position, grade level, and duty location.
- ✓Applicants who do not provide this documentation will not receive consideration as an ICTAP candidate.
