About the Role

This position is located in region two, Mission Support, Administrative Services Branch. The ideal candidate for this position will perform work to secure contracts for the acquisition of goods and services and ensuring that procurements are obtained from responsible sources. The ideal candidate will set and adjust short-term priorities and prepare schedules for completion of contract work based on priorities.

What You'll Do

  • What will I do in this position if hired?
  • In this position, you will serve as Supervisory Contracting Specialist.
  • Typical assignments include: Advising executive management and senior-level staff on all procurement actions for assigned organizations and determine the types of procurement instruments to be issued and which best meet the needs of the Agency for all serviced functions/offices.
  • Supervising work related to the contract pre-award process in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations and Agency policy.
  • Coordinating regular meetings with disaster staff to include but not limited to the FCO, Comptroller, Program offices, Contract Specialist, Procurement Clerks, and Contracting Administrative Assistants as necessary.
  • Acting as lead negotiator and team leader coordinating with legal counsel, auditors, and program offices.
  • Conducts past performance reference checks with other Government agencies when applicable.

  • Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
