About the Position: The mission of the Engineering Branch includes preparing all designs, design reports, plans, contract specifications and cost estimates for the San Francisco District's Civil Works projects and the military construction and International and Interagency Support (IIS) projects assigned to the Engineering Division. Civil Works project design is complicated by the widely varying topographic, geologic and hydrologic conditions present throughout the District area.
What You'll Do
- →Plans, coordinates, and directs through 4 subordinate sections (supervisors) the implementation of the functional responsibilities of Engineering Branch.
- →Allocates resources among the Branch.
- →Makes major recommendations in using automation and other processes, including CADD, EMS and AI to reduce operating costs.
- →Communicates with personnel in other District elements, SPD, HQUSACE, personnel of other Districts and Divisions, local sponsors, installation users, major command personnel, and A-E contractor personnel.
- →Exercises delegated personnel management authority personally and through subordinate supervisors to plan for future workload, meet emergency requirements and achieve optimum organization simplicity and economy of operations.
- →Ensures development of performance standards and timely evaluation of performance as well as assuring adequacy of training resources available for subordinate employees.
- →Responsible for planning, supervising, directing, coordinating and reviewing the design, of all assigned civil works and military, IIS CAP, Public Law 84-99 (PL84-99) also known as the Emergency Response to Natural Disasters, and Navigation Projects.
