This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is with the Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, Civil Works Design Branch, located in Sacramento California. A recruitment/relocation incentive may be offered. What You'll Do
- →Serves as a Section Chief responsible for providing professional engineering advice, guidance, review and overall supervision of all project engineering activities associated with the Civil Works engineering and design program.
- →The work is in support of the District's Civil Works Program, which involves planning, design and construction of flood control and navigation projects throughout portions of multiple western states.
- →Projects range from dams, appurtenances, levees, flood control and navigation channels, revetment, and navigation structures to roads, bridges, streets, railroads and utility systems (gas, water, sanitary, and storm drainage).
- →As required, personally performs the more complex and critical assignments.
- →Includes managing highly sophisticated or controversial projects, field visits to resolve unique problems encountered during construction, and special planning to implement new programs or project requirements.
