About the Role
This position is located in the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Office of Inspector General (OIG). The position conducts and oversees complex audits, reviews, and evaluations of NLRB programs and operations to identify fraud, waste, abuse, and inefficiencies, while promoting accountability and compliance. The incumbent also serves as a team leader for audit staff and supports agency-wide oversight initiatives.
What You'll Do
- →Planning audits by assessing risk, testing controls, collecting information, analyzing data using quantitative tools, examining and documenting documentary, observational, and testimonial evidence, and managing audit resources to ensure efficient and effective audit execution.
- →Leading and participating in the development of draft and final audit reports, briefing materials for OIG and agency leadership, congressional responses, and other written products that clearly communicate audit findings, recommendations, and conclusions.
- →Providing supervision and technical guidance to audit staff throughout the performance and completion of audits and reviews, while demonstrating strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and professional judgment in resolving complex audit issues.
- →Serving as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) by initiating and obtaining contracts for independent public accounting firms to perform financial statement and internal control audits, while providing technical expertise and guidance to the Contracting Officer, contractor staff, and OIG personnel throughout the contracting and audit processes.
